ProMed specializes in silicone molding and offers a wide range of capabilities to support the fabrication of high quality, tight tolerance-components for various medical device applications. Silicone elastomers are often the material of choice for critical applications because of their flexibility, durability, biocompatibility, and resistance to chemical degradation. From a manufacturing standpoint, LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) and HCR (High Consistency Rubber) materials offer a path to highly reproducible, consistent products that meet tight geometric tolerances. High precision injection molding equipment is utilized to support varying product needs such as micro-molding or multi component/over molded processes. These injection molding presses may be optimized to accommodate the molding of LSR or HCR elastomer systems. Alternate processes include both Transfer and Compression molding.
We are also able to utilize inline, automated, custom visual inspection systems to ensure quality, prevent escapes, and avoid the costs associated with manual inspection.
With molding equipment ranging from 11 tons to 240 tons, we can find the right process to fit your project within our molding abilities:
- Shot size capabilities from 0.5ccm to 180 ccm
- LSR materials from 10 to 80 durometer (Type A)
- HCR materials from 20 to 80 durometer (Type A)
- Lower cavitation manual molding to minimize up front tooling costs
- High cavitation, fully automated molding systems to minimize product costs
- Regulatory support from long term implantable to aerospace component applications
