ProMed can provide you with a sample kit that has a range of durometers in it for your review.

ProMed evaluates individual parts and features on a case by case basis, but a good general rule of thumb is 2.5% of dimensional size or +/-.003″, whichever is greater.

ProMed works with our customers to prepare a qualification strategy. We do provide a summary of our IQ/OQ strategy with quotation upon customer request.

High Temperature Vulcanization (HTV) and High Consistency Rubber (HCR) are just different names for the same thing. They are both referring to the more traditional style of silicone that is commonly used for compression molding and transfer molding.

This varies from project to project but no it is not always necessary. Reference the material data sheet and look at legacy product within your company to help you make an informed decision.

HCR silicones are still very important to our industry and it is the best choice for many situations. The two main reasons we see customers choose an HCR silicone is for its physical properties which solve their unique problem or to more closely match their proven legacy products.

There are many factors to consider but a common decision driver is cost. LSR silicone is usually much cheaper to manufacture parts so many companies go this route if they aren’t constrained by legacy products.
